Mama T's Smokin Eats

So the wife and I decided to try a new restaurant today. We drove out to Mama t's smokin eats in south Superior on Tower Ave. And pulled up to a little bar that's unassuming. I had heard for a couple of years now that she serves up some good food. I was NOT disappointed. We started with the smoky, crispy chicken wings and the shroom platter. The Cajun crispy wings were huge and delicious and not spicy, which I liked (I'm old and my stomach can't handle the spicy anymore, unfortunately) but still a GREAT flavor. The fried mushrooms were great, especially with the portobello mushroom slices. I unfortunately didn't get a pic of them, but the wife and I love deep fried mushrooms and the portobello mushroom bits were the best we've ever had (we both agreed on that). Love this place! The Inferno pulled pork sandwich was excellent, my neighbors were loving the smoked wings, and the staff were friendly and fun. The Bloodies looked awesome and spicy. Go when its not too busy (midweek, off season?) so you can visit with the owner and learn about her work supporting local veterans. They have a Bent Paddle lager custom-brewed for them in honor of the 173 Airborne (her son's unit) that supports local veterans projects. Anyhow, great food, great line up of local beer, great staff, and a special place for vets. A hidden gem, but word is getting out!

Today was my first visit to Mama T’s but it won’t be my last. The service was stellar and the waitstaff were fun and friendly. The food is beyond good. It was like a taste of NOLA in northern Wisconsin. I had fried green tomatoes with rémoulade sauce, and tomato bisque. It was so good! Yesterday was my second visit to Mamma T’s. It was as good if not better than the last time. It has the same great atmosphere and service,…everyone treats us like family. This time I chose the Inferno. Momma T’s pit master training was on show in this creation. The pork was perfectly done and the combination of sweet and heat is why it’s one of their top sellers. I absolutely loved it. Find an excuse to drive to Superior for this amazing food. I’ve come from Eau Claire, twice!!!

We are not from town and when we pulled up to the restaurant, we took a look and wondered if itd be good. Outside reminded us of restaurants down south and that convinced us to go in. Cute restaurant/bar with nice staff! Food came out quickly and fresh! Wings were crispy and well seasoned. Inferno sandwich was huge and tasty. Shrimp po boy had lots of shrimp! Staff was awesome! Definitely recommend!

The food is amazing. We stopped here because the original place we stopped had too long of a wait. We are glad we stopped in. This will be our regular place from now on when stopping or driving through Superior. Cannot pick our favorite crispy wings, pepper cheese curds, and pastrami rueben were all amazing! Great atmosphere and great staff.
