If you’re anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and stop in. This small-town Mexican restaurant is an absolute gem. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care—the kind of meals that remind you why family-owned spots are always the best. The service is just as impressive. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of your business, which makes the whole experience feel personal rather than rushed. Between the generous portions, authentic flavors, and warm atmosphere, this place stands out as one of the best Mexican restaurants around. I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending it to everyone I know.

I was traveling to Leroy for an event and wanted to grab some dinner before it started. So thankful that I found this gem. Fantastic food!!!! The owner served us himself and he was wonderful. I really enjoyed meeting him and learning about this family run business. Mama Chavez's Taqueria has a great atmosphere and was nice and warm on a cold night. I strongly recommend that you stop by if you are in the area!

I was really looking forward to trying this place and hoped to love it. While I appreciate their efforts, I found that the burrito I ordered didn’t quite meet my expectations. The spice level was mild, and the sauce felt a little watery. The ground beef could use more seasoning, and the rice was cooler than I prefer. The horchata was also lighter and thinner than I’m used to. Having enjoyed authentic Mexican food at other places, I hope they continue to refine their dishes, as there’s great potential here.

They were truly amazing! They hosted our group for a lunch stop and were incredibly patient, but also fast and took such great care of us. The food was excellent and the people were even better

Absolutely love the place. Me and my sons just got food from there an hour ago. I got the burritos and my older son got nachos. My youngest son who's 6 got the hard shell tacos with just beef and cheese and when he took his first bite he said mmm mmm these are damn good tacos 😂 I said they are the best buddy. He asked me if we could go back tomorrow. I told him maybe next week. I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys authentic Mexican food also if you stop by on taco Tuesday you get a little discount.
