We had dinner at Mama Chan’s tonight and it was so delicious! It’s like an elevated version of your favorite Chinese takeout - familiar and comforting, but still feels super authentic. Any menu with cold sesame noodles already steals my heart, and these totally lived up to the hype. The sesame chicken (my go-to dish every time I order Chinese take away) was incredible - perfectly crispy, fresh, and coated in just the right amount of sauce. We tried a bunch of things - the Chinese broccoli special, shrimp cakes, cold sesame noodles, cucumber salad, shrimp dumplings, fried rice, sesame chicken, and udon noodles — and honestly everything was amazing. Greatly enjoyed the udon noodles with pork as a special menu item tonight. We were welcomed graciously by the owner and seated right away in our reserved seats at the bar. Service was very good. I found the noise level uncomfortable from the music, which was way to loud to carry on a conversation, and the ambient noise from the patrons. Overall it was a good experience.

Nothing—and I mean nothing—beats Mama Chan’s. I genuinely catch myself dreaming about their sesame chicken at least once a week (no shame). Every time I walk through that door, I leave happier, fuller, and somehow more obsessed than the last time. The magic starts the second you step inside. The owner herself greets you like you are family, and the warmth in her welcome is unmatched. It’s like walking into your own home, but with way better food and zero dishes to do. Our go-to order typically includes the scallion oil noodles, cucumber salad, and sesame chicken. Everything on the menu is fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. This bar has the best cocktails, especially the Madame Butterfly and Joy Luck Club. Diana brews the tea fresh daily for the drinks, and you can really taste the difference. The staff makes this place special. Sitting at the bar and chatting with Jack is always a great experience, and the entire team makes you feel genuinely welcome. Absolutely loved our dinner at Mama Chan's in Northport! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and one of the owners, Diana, made the experience even better by personally stopping by our table a couple of times to check in—super friendly and genuine hospitality. We ordered the sautéed green beans, handmade pork dumplings, pan-fried garlic udon with pork, sesame chicken, and the cabbage vegetable special. Every dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly seasoned. You can really taste the care and quality in their food. Generous portions too—we left with a nice amount of leftovers to enjoy later.
