MAKOTO Sushi & Hibachi & Chinese

They deleted my previous review so adding it again for customer transparency. Under the New ownership a lot of the menu items were removed, including the Ramen and curry. We tried three different new Chinese menu items (general tso, sweet and sour chicken, and beef lo mein) and unfortunately they were bad. Each dish lacked flavor and the quality of the meat was very terrible. The food also took a very long time to come out.

The sushi and nigiri were delicious and presented well. Will definitely return

Been going here since 2017. Stopped after Covid as the food quality declined from previous owners. Tried it recently and was pleasantly surprised. Overall solid experience. Miso soup was very good, edamame was solid, gyoza was very good. The dipping sauce was top shelf. I wish they would brown off dumplings before they steam them. The spicy tuna roll was serviceable. We would order all of them again. Finally, the main course hibachi chicken and steak was excellent. In the past, we couldn’t get medium rare to rare steak and the chef cooked it perfectly this time. The chicken was tender and flavorful. I would like a little more vegetables to go with the meat however. Hopefully, they will have their beer and wine license. By the time we go back as we’d like to have wine with our dinner,

We have had this place in the past and let me just say…holy cow. What an incredible improvement. We had crab Rangoon and steamed gyoza to start, which was delicious. Then we had a California roll, cucumber roll, rainbow roll, and volcano roll. We also had the tuna and salmon nigiri. Everything was so fresh and delicious. We will absolutely be back!! This place is an unbelievable hidden gem!
