I love the bowls here but the protein portion size is too small. I thought it was just because I ordered via Ubereats (as many restaurants skimp on protein for deliveries) but I also ordered in person and was disappointed by the amount of chicken as well.

Bowl was flavorful but most of the brisket that I got was just huge chunks of fat, it was more fat than meat. I’m not used to receiving such low quality from them, maybe it’s just this location.

I ordered online from MaiZal at the Skyland Town Center location, and I will say that my food was ready on time and hot when I arrived, which I appreciated. However, I’m only giving two stars because they got my order wrong. I ordered the tempura fish taco but was given the shrimp taco instead. For me, this wasn’t a huge deal since I’m not allergic to shrimp, but if someone had a shrimp allergy and could only eat fish, this mistake could have been a serious problem. Beyond the allergy concern, I was still disappointed because I ordered a fish taco and I wanted fish, not shrimp. As a teacher in the area, I have a short lunch break and didn’t have time to go back and have them fix it, so I just had to eat what I was given. Fresh food, clean restaurant, yummy sauces. Also they have nice unique ingredients like plantains, street corn, and picked veggies, arepas which gives you a different experience from chipotle. Plantains were cooked to perfection and the elote (corn) was hot and fresh.

I was so disappointed. I ordered a veggie quesadilla on Friday and it was seriously the BEST quesadilla I have ever had. I ordered it again on Sunday and it was inedible. There was no queso or street sauce. The tortilla did look as if it had been grilled or even warmed up. It was basically raw, making the quesadilla flavorless. I thought I had found my go-to for great Mexican food. I guess I'm still on the hunt.
