My new favorite spot. Workers are all very nice and the food is amazing. Chill music, not loud at all. My type of spot: - crispy curry duck: a pricier dish but worth it. Filling. Crunchy. Curry. 5/5 - garlic butter shrimp: really good 5/5 - shaking beef: a bit too chewy 3/5 - pork belly sisig: amazing flavor, the right amount of fattiness 5/5 - larb karage: yummy crunchy chicken thigh appetizer. It’s good but there are better things to get -fried chicken rice bowl: I love rice and I love fried chicken. Good ratios 5/5 -Thai green tea: so yummy. Not too sweet. Flavorful 5/5
Been meaning to try out this corner restaurant that sits high off the sidewalk. Situated alone, a block off the main drag, it’s bright and welcoming. I went with the grilled chicken pineapple fried rice, bae had the vegetable pad Thai. My dish was delicious and filling in a healthy way. Bae thought her dish was very clean tasting and hearty and as sh says guilt free food. Seating is tight but they may it work. That’s why the 3 stars for satisfactory. Service was very friendly , attentive with a smile.
Love the pho with bone marrow at this new restaurant in Astoria and it’s such a cozy spot that serves Southeast Asian dishes. The menu has pho, banh mi, curries, and other Southeast Asian comfort dishes. We tried the crispy spring rolls, fried branzino with basil sauce, curry duck, steak and marrow, and the pho king.
Placed my first delivery order last Tuesday night after arriving home from Rome. Was really craving for a good Pho and also Filipino food! And since I’ve been eyeing this place for awhile now, ordered Pho, honey soy garlic wings, and pork sisig with rice. They had a promo after a certain minimum spend that it comes with Thai iced tea. Order arrived and after trying everything, I can confirm that everything was delicious! I always manage my expectations esp. on Filipino food given that I can make it really well but I was pleasantly surprised that their sisig was so good and is in fact in my Top 3 now. Portions for the price are also good. Hope they keep it that way. I’d like to dine in person soon so hoping by then that it’ll be updated to Five stars! Thanks Maison Mekong! :)
This place is such a local gem! I'm not sure when they opened, but my first few experiences were via uber eats and I was impressed, even then. They have probably my favorite pho in the area and I think their menu is very fairly priced for the amount of freshness and flavor that you're getting. I dined in for the first time tonight and I think the owner's family was eating there. It made my experience feel very warm, welcoming, and homey!
