Located on Railroad Street, which is the heart of Downtown Danville. This is a must visit award winning, French bakery. Known for their delicious, crispy croissants. I recommend their regular croissants, but their lemon meringue is absolutely amazing! I also tried their savory hot dog croissant, which was more like an Italian sausage, spicy and juicy. They can heat up this dish for another 5 minutes delay, but worth the wait. Be sure to enjoy a vanilla latte with your pastries.
French bakery with cozy vibes. All is blue and gold in this chic Danville bakery. The pastries are great and desserts sinful. The people behind the pastry shelves though, not so welcoming. No smiles at all.
Finally, got the almond croissants that aren’t sold out for once, but I’m highly disappointed. For $7 each, it appeared burnt, flat and small. Taste was not that great. It wasn’t flaky at all- like I said it was very flat and didn’t look like a croissant. Their butter croissant looked way better but I didn’t try that. I also wasn’t asked if it was for here or to go so we were just eating from our paper bag. (We noticed they asked other guests) I’ve tried other authentic French bakeries that don’t cost as much and tasted way better. Overall, we won’t return.
Best croissant I've ever had! I like how it's so flaky and crispy on the outside but also not too hard. The inside has the similar feeling of asian milk toast but airy-er so I really really like it. The flan is a little lackluster though... it's too sweet and the pastry condensed underneath and hard to cut through... The service was meh but I forgive them since the croissant is so good 👍
I gave them 3 stars because normally they’re a 5….but this visit is a 1. We drive 70 miles and wait in long lines to come get their chocolate croissants and pain suisse, often. Yesterday I picked up 2 chocolate croissants and 4 pain suisse and every single one of them was dry and not buttery at all. In fact they were the worst croissants I’ve ever had. I’ve purchased many and have had them a day or two after and they’ve always been excellent. I ate these the same day of purchase and it’s as if they were a week old. I really hope that they’ll be better next time.
