Customer Reviews
We drive 15 minutes, passed another well known ice cream place, just to get a treat at Main Street Dairy Treat. Their warm brownie sundaes are to die for, the brownie is soft in the middle with a bit of crunch on the edge, warm and gooey. They have a large selection of flavors, cyclones, sundaes and parfaits. Huge portions too so if you're watching your calories ask for a "baby size" and it'll still be a fairly big portion (2 scoops). The people working here are always friendly and helpful so don't forget to tip!
I moved to Lewiston about 6 years ago after having lived in Yarmouth. Having distributed my time and money between 20 or so ice cream places, I was happy to find Dairy Treat. I occasionally visit another place, but always come back here. The lot is always clean, the prices are extremely reasonable, and the ice cream and other treats are always delicious. But the best part of Dairy Treat are the girls who serve up the treats. They are always smiling, greeting everyone with a good attitude. I always make it a point to visit an ATM before going so I can leave a tip. And I always have a smile for them in return. May Dairy Treat and the girls be around forever!
Love the dairy free flavors & the workers are friendly.
Stopped here while passing through the area. I was so excited. They had chocolate almond ice cream which I hadn’t found lately. I was so disappointed! The almonds were mushy! The chocolate was tasty which saved me from returning for a refund. On a positive note, my husband said his pistachio was great. The two girls inside were very friendly, cheerful, and helpful. They offered us cups even though we got cones. On an AWESOME note…while we were there a man who appeared to be a ‘street person’ was standing back from the window. One of the girls gave him a cup of water that she had waiting for him. She said as she handed him the cup, “I thought you might stop by.” This told me that she often had water for him. What a wonderful thing to do.
Shakes are bland and lack sweetness, too. Prices aren't especially competitive, either. Maybe it's different now (went about 2 weeks ago when they first opened) but they're sorely lacking in staff. Only one person was working and had to wait around 20 minutes between waiting to order then for the shakes to be made.
