Maddie's Place

We were in town on a Tuesday from Oklahoma for our son’s appointment at the Children’s hospital and simply googled “good food near the hospital” and Maddie’s Place came up. Long story short, the food and service were amazing! They were so sweet to our Charlie boy also! I hate that my mom brain cannot remember our waitress’ name, but she was sweet and personable as well! Not the most aesthetic pictures, but we had the ribeye and blue cheese meat pies with a carrot slaw for appetizers and they were our favorite part of the meal. For entrees, we had the bacon glazed salmon on a bed of garlic grits on a tomato crème paste with Brussel sprouts and the crawfish pasta! Highly recommend!

I could’ve devoured the entire bowl by myself! 🥩 The Ribeye: Now, let me get REAL for a moment. The ribeye (not on the menu but you must ask for it) was THE BEST I've ever tasted. The night before my sister’s birthday I went to Google maps to find a restaurant we’ve never had before. After reading the reviews about Maddie’s Place and looking at the posted pictures I knew this is where we needed to go. I wanted to try a variety of apps so we ordered 3 and we both got the lunch special. Appetizers: Alligator Bites- were fried and seasoned perfectly and paired great with the dipping sauce it came with. The sauce reminded me of a sweet/sour combination. Fried Green Tomatoes topped with lump crab meat- crispy and delicious. I’ve had fried green tomatoes before and at some places the batter doesn’t stick or falls off. Not these. I’ll be real, this is probably the most underrated restaurant in LR. The food is the best in area for Cajun. I’ve had their chicken, redfish, gumbo, and nachos and it’s never disappointed. My wife had the harvest salad and loved it. The drinks are awesome and it retains a local atmosphere. If you’re in town and want a real Cajun experience, this is the place.

Absolutely fabulous redfish, garlic grits and collard greens! The collards were unlike anything I've had before and they were amazing! A little vinegary and a little sweet. A little bit of everything was the perfect bite! My husband's chicken with the crystal glaze was SO good also. The texture of it was great. I'm sorry I don't live closer so I can go back.
