Customer Reviews
We enjoyed our first visit to The Mad Batter Kitchen / Lazy Hiker Brewing Company (they share the same building) in Silva. We ordered a medium pizza, half with mushrooms and onions (they didn't have banana peppers) and half with extra cheese. My dining partner got a beer. It was convenient to have both establishments share the same common space. The pizza was good. Not the best I've ever had, but good. The crust wasn't bad, though it could have been a bit poofier at the edges. The flavor of the sauce and cheese was good. It took a moment to figure out the process for ordering, but there were good instructions on the wall, and the person who took our order was helpful. The vegetarian / vegan and gluten-free options are impressive. The atmosphere is fun and the place in general has
Crazy 6 was delicious as was the red curry. The pizza is abysmal (this is obviously an opinion because they’ve got great reviews) but here’s the cheese pizza they gave me. Also ordered an artichoke pizza that was absolutely disgusting, took one bite of it and left the whole thing.
Great place to get a vegan meal. My Korean bowl was great and seemed very healthy. You order at a table inside of the brewery and then they bring your food to the table. If you want anything to drink other than from their soda fountain thing, you have to wait in a separate line and pay separately. Not a deal breaker. Wish they offered THC drinks. Tough to get a place to sit when I went. Lots of people taking up tables for the trivia. I didn't participate in the trivia but it seemed pretty dull, not like other trivia events that I've attended.
I had the red curry with tofu and really enjoyed it. Had a decent spice level which hit the spot for me on a cold night. We stayed for the trivia, had a beer which was also good. Seemed like a reliable spot for an easy meal and a relaxed beer. I've seen people complain about the prices but I thought they provided a good value. Despite there not being table service I felt their operation was efficent, effective and personally have no complaints.
We ordered to go from here and got a pepperoni mushroom, supreme, buffalo wings, and loaded fries. The food is outstanding and we will be ordering again. I’d only recommend the to-go staff add Parmesan and red pepper packets in the to-go orders. I forgot to grab them from the condiment station and I bet a lot of other people do too! Delicious! Best pizza in Sylva!
