We were recommended to visit from a mutual friend of the owner and I had never heard of this place before, but SO glad that I took him up on the recommendation! We happened to come on a evening that the Singer and Songwriters guild was holding an open mic night. While the actual music ranged from not too good to pretty decent, the real star of the show was the food and drinks! The food was AMAZING and the bar also had quite a number of beers from a tap takeover from a Sojourn Fermentory, which ranged from light to dark and all delicious. This restaurant (venue) is small but cozy. There is a lot of seating packed into this small place but mostly 3 - 4 person high-top tables with some hybrid booths and seating around the perimeter. I spent an evening with family/friends and honestly wish I’d found it sooner. It’s such an awesome spot for live music… the night I went, I caught three different acts, including a full band, and every performance was a blast. It’s great to see how connected this place is to their community… they’re always hosting events that give back or bring people together. You can tell they truly care, that vibe makes the place feel warm and welcoming the second you walk in. Got to chatting with the owner who clearly takes pride in his business and his community! Everything about this place is so welcoming and wonderful! It's my first time here and it is an absolute pleasure meeting Josh the bartender. I ordered a Pisco Sour to start with and there is an extensive cocktail list that I'm looking forward to trying. I highly recommend this place if you're in Fairfax City. Larry, the Head Cocktail Shaker, is a must see too! See you guys here :)

If you haven’t been to Mackenzie’s yet, you are seriously missing out. This spot has quickly become my go-to in Fairfax, and for good reason! • The Vibe: The atmosphere is the perfect blend of cozy and upscale. Whether you’re grabbing a casual drink or celebrating a special occasion, it feels welcoming and polished. • The Food: Every dish we ordered was a hit. You can tell they use high-quality, fresh ingredients. The flavors are well-balanced, and the presentation is beautiful. My go-to spot in Fairfax! A great neighborhood place with a truly personal feel. The team is awesome (shoutout to Josh), the food and cocktails are excellent, and the outdoor seating is perfect in nice weather — a very dog-friendly patio is a huge plus. Great vibe, fun activities, and live music. Rooted in Fairfax and supportive of the local community! Highly recommend!
