Macaluso's

Had the Lent menu. Soup, salad, entrée and dessert. All of the meal was really good, with a few notes. The soup was in a small bowl, which appeared like a good portion, but was only about 1/4 inch deep (very small portion). The salmon over rice was awesome but could have used more sauce. Entire staff was extremely friendly. Enjoyable experience.

Service by Celia was outstanding. We had reservations with our ten month old for my birthday. When we showed up, our table already was set up with menus and a high chair. I had the ahi appetizer and one of the dinner specials (angel hair with scallops, mussels, and shrimp). Both dishes had plenty of flavor with different additions to that complemented each other. My boyfriend said the same about his veal dish. He was especially impressed with the flavors of the pepper appetizer. Dinner was finished off with a great chocolate cake dessert. Glad we got away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and were able to enjoy this place. Also, shoutout to the bartender for the after dessert drink. You were awesome as well! Will stay at the hotel and eat here next time we’re in the area!

We always wanted to get away to Jim Thorpe. We decided to stay here for my boyfriends birthday. We ate at the restaurant. It was OK. I had the chicken marsala and it tasted like water no flavor. I complained and didn't eat it they still charged me. Didn't ask if I wanted something else. They said they would give us a dessert and still charged us for it. We stayed at the hotel. The worst dirty place I have been too. Their is mold thru out the room. The bathroom especially. We were itchy all night in bed. Then we have no toiletries here. No coffee maker to make coffee. Just not what I expected. Very sad!

We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant since moving to the area a few months ago. There were only 4 tables with customers and us. Two wait staff going to each table and walking past us no “hello” or “we’ll be right over”. Waited 5+ minutes to put in a drink order. The focus was definitely on the table next to us, the waitress was networking with the gentleman and giving them her undivided attention. Told them about the desserts walked away, then came back for their dessert order. Still did not take our drink order. There was absolutely no balance with how they waited on tables. Very odd considering the restaurant and bar were basically empty. The other waitress helped with our table and she was very nice and friendly. Food was good, nothing great, but solid.

This was our first visit to Macaluso's. The food was excellent along with the atmosphere. I had the chicken parmesan, it was delicious.
