Lynbrook Public Library

Libraries aren't like they used to be as it can get noisy and here is no different. It helps that they have personal study quiet rooms that you can reserve. They also have a large room with multiple cubbies that don't require reservation.

Great place and another perk of living in Lynbrook. In my opinion, not one negative. Plenty of closeby parking. Staff is friendly, welcoming, accommodating, and extremely helpful. I like that I can select books in advance and have them waiting for me - especially since I no longer drive and always have someone waiting for me. And even received free delivery during a time when I was incapacitated. And programs offered are interesting with nice interaction.

It is really a suggestion rather than review. I would like to suggest the library open regular hours in Tuesdays. Think about, most of the national holidays fall on Mondays. People then need to use the library after the long weekend right away. I live in Lynbrook and very close to the library (walking distance less than 10 min.) I have to go to East Rockaway library in Tuesday, right after the Columbus Day. I hope the library can consider open Tuesdays at 10:00 am as other weekdays.

I read some of the other reviews and they're right. I asked the so called librarian to look for a book and she seemed really annoyed. The women at the desks were very nice but that library just has a horrible atmosphere. Too bad it's like that.

I love this library so much! It has so many accommodations for children, so many activities to keep them, busy your child would love it here! From books to different play areas, to separate quiet rooms with independent tablets available for use, to cozy book corners and bean bag chairs, you’ll find something to do. They even have a fish tank with beautiful fish and invite the kids to watch the fish feeding every other day at 3:30pm. The atmosphere is so cute, it is always so clean and the staff are always so friendly, patient and willing to help.
