Wonderfully modern take on Americanized-Chinese food, done by a Chinese-America. Limited but superlative menu, each dish bursting with singular flavor, excellent cocktails and friendly and attentive service made this a great experience for our group. We enjoyed the following: Pork Wonton Soup (Umami broth, crispy wonton, sesame, chili oil) - spicy and hearty opening, excellent wontons Crab Rangoon (Snow crab, Tobiko, cream cheese, ginger, scallion, Old Bay) - probably one of the better versions of this dish, the real crab makes a big difference! Combination Dirty Rice (Shredded peking duck meat, Chinese sausage, white shrimp, persimmon, rouille herbs) - very good overall, great combination of flavors, and just the rice itself was excellent Crab Lo Mein (Maryland blue crab, leek fondu
All the entrees were amazing, THIS is what fusion should be. Crab lo mein was super flavorful with perfectly cooked noodles and plenty of crab meat so that each bite has crab in it. The duck rice had an amazing sauce, crispy pork/beef (can’t remember) was pretty good too but the side salad was actually the highlight. Also great that it’s actually a shareable portion. Dessert was not it… the coconut milk was a weird combination and was sour too. Other than that, 10/10
I came here for the Taiwanese Mahjong Class and it was so much fun! I loved learning to play mahjong, our instructor (who is also the head chef!) was super informative and very nice! They also have great happy hour deals on cocktails and appetizers. I got the Chongqing chicken and Sichuan beef dumplings and both were amazing!! I will definitely be back, this just became my new favorite Chinese place.
I went here for dinner with a friend before a Wizards game after wanting to visit for quite some time. I lived there space and how there were two bars throughout the restaurant. This would be a great happy hour spot if you work in Chinatown. Honestly, the food was good but didn’t live up to the hype. We started with the Short Rib & Bone Marrow Dumplings and Sticky Spicy Beef. Both were good but not amazing. The beef was VERY hot. For an entree, we spilt the Half Peking Duck. It was very garlicky and didn’t seem to actually be Peking duck. It was tasty though, and I really like the presentation of the accoutrements (rice, lettuce, etc) All in all, it was good but not amazing. If you are in the area, check it out.
Natalie took great care of us during a busy restaurant week dinner. She was so attentive to every detail and made sure we were happy with every part of our meal. The crab rangoons are also a delicious here.
