Love Burn - Hot Chicken

I got their chicken sandwich level 2 and their wings at level 3. The chicken sandwich didn't taste spicy at all to me so I kind of wished I got level 3 for my sandwich also. The wings were spicy and a bit painful to eat, but it wasn't too bad where it was inedible. I don't think I would ever get level 4 though unless it's just for bragging rights saying that I tried it because I know it'll probably taste horrible and the spice will be intolerable! I thought their chicken sandwich was very crunchy and it was huge! I shared it with my husband, but it didn't really wow me nor do I have cravings to go back. Does your love burn for fried chicken because mine does. If you want a chicken sandwich that's juicy, crispy, and the size of your head.. if not bigger, Love Burn is the place to be. I'm a tiny girl with a big appetite.. and I'm ashamed to say that I've been defeated by the sandwich. You don't often find sandwiches/burgers with meat thats twice the size of the bun... but this is one of them. Sandwiched between two soft potato buns is a huge chicken thigh topped off with some coleslaw and pickles. The chicken was so crispy.. and humongous.. HOLY SMOKES.

Definitely a unique place. I was here on a Tuesday, when the bowling alley is closed, so other than people coming in for pickup it was pretty quiet. There are two small tables for dining in, which I did. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich with level 2 heat (first date). The sandwich is huge. The heat was manageable, thankfully, because some reviews sounded a little daunting. I have to say I’m glad I tried it and the sandwich was good, but just ok and not spectacular. I also had pasta salad (just ok as well). I wanted to give this place a five star review, because the idea is solid, but just couldn’t.

Crunchy, tasty fry! The chicken was bursting out of the sandwich. Everything was fresh and the chicken moist. Personally would have liked more slaw. Got spicy 0 for the kids and 2 was perfectly spicy and tolerable for me. Sandwich has to be eaten right away or it gets soggy. I’d come back for the quarter and the wings. 2 people $40

Love Burn is ranked #3 on my spots in the bay area to get a spicy chicken sandwich $15. It took about 10 minutes for them to create my spicy chicken sandwich. The whole iPad ordering system is bugged. First, the menu didn't have the garlic fries that I wanted. Second, the chip reader on their thingamajig didn't work. I had to tap it instead. The sandwich tasted fine with fresh ingredients. The coleslaw started falling out while I tried to eat it at a table, at the bar on the side. That's a good thing when they put too much stuff in a sandwich. Who doesn't love a messy sandwich? Good job staff at Love Burn.
