LOS POTRILLOS RESTAURANT

Absolutely loved this place. We ordered the chorizo tacos, steak tacos, chicken tacos, and a side of rice and beans and everything was seriously delicious. The chorizo had so much flavor, the steak and chicken were perfectly cooked, and the rice and beans were the perfect sides to go with it all. On top of the food being amazing, the people working there were incredibly kind and welcoming. You can tell they really care about their customers and the food they serve. Great atmosphere, great service, and great tacos. We’ll definitely be coming back.

I stopped into Los Potrillos on E Venango St in Port Richmond the other day and had the Torta Milanesa, hands down one of the best tortas I’ve had in Philly. The breaded chicken cutlet was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and piled generously on a soft, fresh bolillo roll with refried beans, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, and just the right amount of jalapeño heat. It was massive! For around $18-19 it’s a total steal and easily enough for two meals or one very happy lunch. The place was clean, the staff super friendly and fast, and the vibe is classic no-frills neighborhood Mexican spot done right.

I visited twice, and both times were quite great experience. They greet you as soon as you enter, friendly staff. I decided to dine in, they gave me complimentary chips while I was waiting. The first I visited I ordered Flautas and the second time I ordered Sopes. Everyone was so good. I will definitely be coming back.

So I ordered for the first time yesterday on my way home from work for reference. The first thing I liked was when I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly hostess and smelled the good food. That’s always a great sign in my opinion. Next thing I noticed was that the hostess was constantly cleaning and making sure everything was taken care of. That’s a good worker in my opinion. Finally the food, was on point. I ordered the Pork Birria Quesadilla and a Tamale De Queso Con Rajas. Both items were hot and full of flavor. The salsa rojo was the added kick that just made the meal so much better. I highly recommend adding that.

very good authentic Mexican. Generous portion sizes. Everything super flavorful, the beans are super rich and excellent. Sauces and guac are awesome too. Looking forward to dining in sometime. Great addition to the neighborhood!
