I was traveling through Austin and decided to try a new place for dinner. Los Landeros was open and instantly felt like the perfect local Mexican food spot — the kind you hope to stumble upon when you’re passing through. The staff was very welcoming right away, offering dine-in or carry-out. We chose to dine in. One thing I appreciated immediately was the menu. A lot of Mexican restaurants have pages and pages of items, and I usually end up hunting for my usual favorites. Here, the menu was simple — just front and back — which honestly felt like a good sign. I went with my go-to: birria tacos. Not every place offers them, and they’re har to fail but rarely perfected. Los Landeros Mexican Restaurant is an amazing restaurant with truly unbeatable customer service! As a semi-truck driver stuck at my shipper for over four hours and unable to leave for food, I called to place an order. Without even knowing me, the team went above and beyond by delivering my food and waiving the delivery fee! Went here for the first time yesterday, everything was perfect! Great, fresh tortillas, and the birria was outstanding. We also got carnitas, pastor, and green enchiladas, everything was 5/5. I wish I could get my rice to turn out like theirs.
