Los Homies Taqueria #2

Stumble upon los homies taqueria by chance and I was not disappointed! It is very unassuming at a first glance, but don’t let that fool you. Let’s start with the staff, the young lady working was terrific in every way. She was very attentive and brought out the food extremely fast. She was friendly and if I caught her name I would recommend her by name. Next the food, although it was brought out extremely fast you could tell it was still made fresh. I started with a taco de pastor which was one of the best I’ve had in a while. The pork was well marinated and the tortillas were just the right amount of toasty to ensure they didn’t get soggy with all the juice. I followed up with the birria tacos, 10/10 and the consomé could have been drank alone. Highly recommend a stop in if in the area!

I was looking up the hours when I noticed that a second location had recently opened near my home, so we decided to give it a try. There was plenty of parking available, and the new establishment is more spacious than the original. There were no other customers when we were there. We were immediately greeted by a rather unpleasant odor, reminiscent of dirty mop water. The table we were seated at was noticeably sticky. We also found the portion sizes to be smaller than expected, and the food was served only slightly warmer than room temperature. Overall, the atmosphere felt somewhat lacking. We plan to return to the original location for our future visits. We were quite disappointed with this experience.

Great place for taco Tuesday or taco any day. Gorditas are phenomenal. Salsa is great and the prices are reasonable. Only small comment I would have is their chips are bit hard, maybe a little stale but everything else is 100%.
