Lorton Library

Beautiful, inviting ,and clean library. Very spacious with high ceilings. It was very easy to find and had a large parking lot beside it. I was impressed at how clean, new, and refreshing this library was upon entering it. I noticed the library has a community center and a library. The community center seemed alive and full of people engaging in fun activities. It even had a gym for people to play games and do sports. I came there to return library books for the closed Kingstowne Library. I liked how quiet the library was and how helpful the staff was in assisting me. This is the closest public library near me and the most exciting library I have encountered in this area.

My three girls absolutely love this library! The staff are always welcoming, kind, and helpful, and they make the experience so enjoyable for kids. The children’s section is wonderful—clean, organized, and full of engaging books and activities that keep my girls excited to come back. It’s such a safe and inviting space that really encourages a love of reading. We are so grateful to have this library in our community!

We stopped into the newly opened Lorton Library today. It was a bit smaller than I expected, but it was nicely laid out. Everything was fresh and bright with lots of windows on the library side. There was an assortment of seating options throughout the library, particularly in the kids area. The young kids area is open to the rest of the library, but somewhat separated by a large open doorway. They thoughtfully put a family bathroom right next to the kids books, in addition to the traditional bathrooms right near the entrance to the library. The traditional women's bathroom had three stalls with a toddler safety seat in the larger handicap stall. The door to enter the bathroom has a handicap accessible button to automatically swing the door open. They've decorated the children's area wit

Great children's area with helpful & kind staff. Children's area is separate area from adults area. Has child size tables & chairs. Also comfortable couches & colorfull Matt's on the floor for floor play & seating. Also toys & puzzles to borrow in children's area.

I've only used the library once or twice, but it's well-organized & the staff is super-friendly & helpful. The rest of the facility has a meeting room which us where I vote in elections and also attend various community meetings. It is also very orderly & well-run.
