Absolutely lovely!! This gorgeous piece of American history is a delight! Built in 1760 s. Service was great attentive but not intrusive We had a small room for the 10 of us and it was definitely worth it. The fireplace was warm and comfortable on that cold Sunday afternoon the candles ( battery operated) were charming in the windows and at the fireplace The food was delicious from appetizers to desert… scallops were sweet and tender. The pot roast yummy. My son in law loved the turkey dinner. Of course the kids menu was full of kids meals. The gift shop had a few unique items that I put into the adults Christmas stockings We also took pictures at the grist mill and took everyone to the candy store @ Fords general store. All in all a wonderful afternoon

Went to the wayside for a nice dinner for my mother’s birthday since she loves historic sites. The experience was very typical as we have eaten there a few times, however this whole experience was tainted by our waiter at the end of the dinner when they began to act passive aggressive about the tip that was left. Just felt like something that should have been cried about in a private space instead in front of my mother and our party on her birthday. That sort of temper tantrum is revolting and really changed my opinion of the establishment. Either pay the wait staff a livable wage, or to set expectations to them before they take the job that tipping is a gift and not a requirement so don’t expect perfect tip percentages every time you wait on a table.

I went for lunch with a friend of mine.... We each had a couple of drinks which were made perfectly, and the lunch we ordered was excellent! The staff were very helpful and our waitress did a great job. It's too bad it's so far at the drive for us because we'd love to go back a lot more often. We didn't stay in the hotel part though we just had lunch.

Our family went to the Wayside Inn for Thanksgiving Dinner. The ambience was wonderful, small room with fireplace, old New England touch. The turkey dinner was horrible. All turkey slices were the same size on everyone's plate, just like they came from a turkey processing plant. Turkey was rubbery and salty, totally inedible. Politely I brought our concerns to the manager. I was totally dismissed. Our family will never return to this landmark restaurant.

This review is about the restaurant only. This was our first visit since moving to Marlborough. We made reservations for noon on a Sunday. The parking lot was plowed and sanded, yet still a little slippery. You are allowed to drop off guests at the walkway to the entrance, which was nicely clean. We were seated across from the kitchen entrance, next to a closed off door. There was a slight draft, but the heat was on and the temperature was good. The positives: Our waitress was Marina, who was extremely pleasant, polite, and always had a smile. (It was also her birthday). She made sure to get our table set up with rolls and butter (we would like to suggest that you add a small dish of jam or honey if you serve the corn muffins as it just adds a nice touch). The drinks were served hot and
