Loma Azul Mexican Restaurant

First time at this establishment. limited seating, although we did not wait for a table. friendly and efficient staff. fast service from ordering to food to table. the only downside was on my fajita combo, the steak was quite chewy and a little grisly. would recommend only the chicken. otherwise your average restaurant.

This was our first time here at this restaurant. You have a nice size restaurant but a bit different. You order and pay atvthe counter. The soft drinks are self<served, but the do have a bar so you can get your strawberry margarita! The food was very good! The place when we arrive was filled with both new and regular customers. The service was good. The prices were pretty good. I was full after eating my specially made chimmicanga with rice and beans. My friend had a burrito and enchilada. All were good! The bathroom was clean. Two Latino brothers are the owners so it is more Authentic Mexican Food. Their names are Jose Barajas and Eduardo Barajas (left to right on the photo). We will be back!! They do have a drive in pickup window.

The restaurant was only serving take-out due to staffing issues. I was NOT going to let that stand between me and tacos! I ordered the al pastor taco meal, and devoured it in my car. Everything was delicious from the meat, to the salsa, to the rice! The gentleman at the window was very kind. I hope they can overcome their staffing setback, because they are making some amazing food here in Wells! I will definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

We got a bunch of different tacos and all were fabulous. Personally I got the Al pastor bowl. It was delicious and packed with flavor. Definitely stopping here again when I get the chance.

I stopped into Loma Azul Mexican Restaurant in Wells, MN on a Tuesday and was lucky enough to catch their $9.99 + tax Taco Tuesday special—three handmade birria tacos with all the fixings. Let me tell you, these tacos were absolutely incredible. Each tortilla was perfectly toasted and stuffed to the brim with tender, flavorful beef and a gooey layer of melted cheese. On the side came fresh lime wedges, crisp white onions, cilantro, and one of their house-made salsas (you can choose from mild, hot, or green). The real star, though, was the consommé—the rich dipping sauce created from the slow-cooking process of the meat. It’s a deep, savory broth with just the right balance of smokiness, spice, and a hint of sweetness from chiles, tomatoes, and spices. Dunking each taco in that consommé too
