Local Grounds Coffee

A great place to start your morning! They have a variety of coffees and food items… literally something for everyone. There is a laid back atmosphere which makes it a good place to relax and enjoy your morning brew or take it to go and meander the town. The inside of the shop is spacious enough so you are not elbow to elbow with other customers. An added bonus: clean bathrooms upstairs. (Apparently bathrooms are not located everywhere in Ketchikan ) 🤷🏻‍♀️

I started coming here, after I was gifted a few coffee gift cards for this coffee stand. I had almost filled up my one side of the coffee ticket, and they gave me back a NEW one. I didn’t notice right away. But it took me a long time to fill it up since I don’t go here regularly. I decided after that point I didn’t want to go back. The coffee isn’t bad, I wish there was a larger size. Which is why I go to a different one. I like the 32oz I get in town. It’s a hit it or miss on attitude here. I sometimes have super nice customers service. Then a few other times I got looks and attitude like “why are you here.” The only fun thing I did find here was they have different flavors of whip cream.

After watching The Great Lumberjack Show we decided to sit, sip and enjoy the weather local grounds was a great place to do this. Ordered the Iced mocha and blended lemonade. Shared the mocha with my partner, I thought it was just me but we both agreed that it was way too sweet! Sister-in-law shared the lemonade with her hubby – they both seemed to enjoy it. The weather was absolutely beautiful, warmer than usual… So when I walked upstairs to use the restroom I was surprised they had more seating upstairs! Unfortunately, heat rises and it was quite warm upstairs, probably why no one was up there, the view was great tho!

I ordered an almond roca iced latte - this was an amazing break from the Starbucks coffee on our cruise ship. My husband ordered the cookie butter hot latte. The employee was super friendly. The coffee shop was small, but had such a cute vibe.

Update: I grabbed a pumpkin butter cold brew this morning and it was delightful! Thank you. I love grabbing my daily coffee from these mama-preneurs. I love the monthly house whipped cream flavors! Thank you for bringing something different to the local coffee scene!
