Absolutely outstanding! Loak Toung Thai delivers on every level — excellent, friendly, and attentive service; a warm and welcoming ambiance; and truly delicious, flavorful dishes. Every plate was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and the prices refreshingly reasonable. A wonderful dining experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!

Today I find myself at Loak Toung Thai in South Tacoma. Established some 10 years now, Loak Toung dishes some seriously good Thai food. Be mindful, the location is a bit sketch. The food far and away over compensates for the location. Today we ordered Thom Kha, Penang Curry, Larb, and Pad Woon Sen. the portions were frankly too large. The food was so delish we will gladly enjoy leftovers. Should you find yourself in Tacoma, treat yourself to Lisa Toung Thai, you will be glad you did. Enjoy

Just really sweet and awesome people in this place. Me and my friend both agree that it is peak customer service hehe. There was no other person who could be more considerate than Kawika, who was just straight a pro in getting people’s hearts <3. And the foodd ooooo i think this place is just there to impress. If you want to be impressed come come come come and enjoy some of the best environment music and food!!!! :)

ENJOY! My only go-to restaurant if they’re open when I’m in Tacoma. The only Thai establishment to which I was confident in taking my dining-out-savvy-friend out for lunch. Brandon, his Thai wife and their son own and run the place. It’s legitimately great Thai food, with same-day fresh quality ingredients (I asked ) and very well prepared. Prices remain affordable. Portion size (PhadThai) perfectly satisfied my dine-in restaurant lunch and the next two nights for at-home dinners. Money well spent! September’25 the 5 star 🌶️ system failed me. I ordered 4⭐️ and it was too tame. Maybe ask about the spiciness when you order. This may be the best Thai food I have ever had, anywhere. Don't come here for a quick meal - the chef, Maam Ray, takes no shortcuts. Her care and expertise shine through in every bite, and the ingredients are excellent., We shared two lunch specials - Garlic Chicken and Red Curry. The flavors were intense and perfectly balanced, the heat level was exactly as ordered, and the portions were amazing. The complimentary Khanom Tan (sponge cake) was a perfect ending to our meal. Our server was a delight - attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I encourage you to come here - but please, don't tell Guy Fieri about it! This is a true Mom & Pop place - Jeremy Ray manages the front of house. In a 2023 SeattleMet article, he noted that Loak Toung means something like “salt of the earth”. An apt name
