Try the truffle salmon crudo! It’s the star of the show for my experience. It’s not heavy on the truffle, it’s citrusy, tender and so flavorful! I also enjoyed the pork belly bao bun. It was like having a ceviche sandwich made with pork belly and full of toppings I wish it was a little bit more tender because it’s a big bite! The nigiri were good; definitely delicious. I’d skip out on the salmon-skin handroll and go for the salmon dashi handroll. Service from Mario was efficient and quick in a small space. Cynthia and Anthony did a good job with room of improvement in checking in on guest in case they need to order more. Guest order by writing down the amount of food they want off the menu and it’s given to the chefs. The chef had to call over the server a few times; which shows attentive
You can't skip this Monday and Tuesday "pop up" concept. The Bao Buns alone are worth coming by. There are no reservations, but trust me it is worth any wait. If you have to chose one, get the Lurin Bao Bun. It is a spin on the traditional Pan Con Chicharrón desayuno Lurin. This is the Nikkei version, so be ready for some amazing Peruvian-Japanese fusion. This is my second time trying Llama Yama and 4th time if including Barra Callao all together.
The whole menu takes you on a real sensory ride. The salmon hand roll and pork bao are absolute must-tries, and the scallop nigiri ended up being the star of the night. I’m already looking forward to coming back.
Visited Llama Yama today and the nigiris, baos, and hand rolls by Chefs Anthony and Seiya are absolutely amazing, made with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is espectacular, Bao Lurin is next level—Hamachi Chimichurri, Takati Carretillero… absolutely delicious flavors. A must visit for anyone looking for authentic Nikkei flavors.
The burst of flavors were out of this world. I had the bao bun, and it was so flavorful. The ceviche had to be the best ceviche I ever had. I had no expectations going in and I left speechless. The presentation of the food was gorgeous. We had other several dishes , and all were delicious. We got so lucky we got there when we did , because we got seating. Highly recommend this place . We will be back.
