L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

Ordered a chicken katsu & kalua pig and cabbage and a kalua pig & cabbage plate lunch. My wife is from Hawaii and I've lived there for many years. The L&L's here aren't the best. The best one is in Lakewood. There is no cabbage in the kalua pig, and the katsu is just ok. It has a different taste than what I'm used to and it's more fatty. I wish all L&L's operated under one owner and cooked all dishes the same like the original Hawaii L&L. Please go to Hawaii and learn how to make a proper plate lunch because what you're serving is not it. The only thing my wife enjoyed was the Hawaiian Sun guava drink.

Order the half and half with Chicken Katsu curry and Hamburger steak. As the receipt shows. Got home open up to eat and it is only hamburger steak and a side of gyoza. Not even a half and half. Extremely disappointed. If you want what you order when you order takeout don’t come here or check the order before leaving make sure it is everything you ordered!!

Go to Lakewood instead, really. The portions are much better, packaging is better, and food is delicious. My meat was cut terribly and my hot sauces melted the container lids they put them in. Very disappointing and you can tell this franchisee is cheap…

First time I’ve ever instantly reviewed a restaurant within five minutes of getting my order. First, I ordered through doordash, and a glitch changed the amount of a side I wanted from 2 to 1. I called the restaurant and they kindly said they’d add the extra side. We received our order with the very sweet note in the picture. On top of the amazing customer service, the food stands alone. The kalua pork, tender, salty, greasy in the best way. The fried shrimp were crispy and very fresh. The bbq chicken is juicy, sweet and savory. And the macaroni salad is a monolith. Will recommend to everyone who enjoys good food.

It was our first time trying them and we were super surprised by how HUGE the portions are. We got a lot to try: the Musubi trio, the combo plates with Katsu and ribs, the loco mock, and the mini pork lau lau. All were good. The macaroni salad served with each was also amazing (and we normally don’t eat it). Definitely worth the visit and will be coming back again! The only downside is it’s a small place so seating can be a hit or miss.
