Little Richard’s Bar-N-Que

My friend invited me to go out for dinner. She suggested Little Richard's BBQ. I've never been there before and I'd always wanted to try it. As I walked inside, I looked around and loved the decor on the walls! The place felt down to earth vibe. I was greeted at the hostess stand. They were very nice and friendly. I told them that my friend will be coming shortly. The hostess sat me down. A server came over and I said that I was waiting for my friend. When my friend arrived and sat down, the server came over. She took our drinks. I had no clue what to order. So many options to choose from. We got our drinks and told the server a few more minutes to order. TOP TIER! If you want food that warms the soul, Little Richard’s is the spot. I’ve been dying for some good bbq/soul food that’s actually seasoned since I moved up here from Florida. Good food, great staff, nice atmosphere. I chose this place for my 25th birthday dinner, it did not disappoint!

We came here on a Friday during lunch around 11:30am. We were sat right away. The waiter was nice and checked in often. The inside was nicely themed and designed. I ordered a platter with the smoked sausage, brisket, Mac & cheese, Cole slaw, hush puppies and a roll. Normally you can choose hush puppies or a roll, but the waiter said you can also split to get half and half. The amount of hush puppies I got were a lot for it being a half order and I enjoyed them. The roll seemed store bought vs freshly made. I liked the sausage a lot and wish I had gotten even more. The brisket was fine, nothing amazing. Got takeout, fries were disgusting soggy. ($10 for side of fries with wings) Like mashed potatoes. Hush puppies over cooked. Wings dry rub flavor was awful tasted like dirt, other Thai chili flavor or something like that was acceptable but not a good quality wing overall .

What an adorable place as it is decorated with fun decor. This was our first time visiting and we stumbled onto it when we were visiting Winston Salem today. Our server was super sweet and very attentive. I ordered the 1/2 chicken plate with 2 sides, which was really good. My hubby ordered the 2 meat platter. I will have to say his brisket and pork while very tasty was very dry. The hush puppies were so yummy and they give you a lot. We will definitely come back again the next time we are in the area.
