Lincoln Park Public Library

We recently moved to Lincoln Park, and since my wife is a big book lover, visiting the local library was high on our list. We stopped by on a cold winter evening (it was only 5 p.m., but you know how winter evenings feel). The first thing that caught my attention wasn’t the books—but dinosaur footprints. Yes, dinosaurs! I later learned that during the construction of the interstate near I-80 in the 1960s, stone slabs containing dinosaur footprints were discovered. These footprints are believed to be around 180 million years old, wow, that’s a lot! :) The library itself is a community-focused public library offering a good collection of books along with digital resources such as eBooks and audiobooks. This is a perfect place for kids and adults. Everyone who works there is super kind and helpful. Alix, aka the creative designer and planner, who is truly amazing with kids, and always ready to listen to them, plans ton of activities all year, as well as Sarah and others. This library had a 'face lift' during pandemic and now has become a great bright space for kids (there is a kids area very well stacked with toys, Lego, puzzles, even sensory room) and for adults (with computers, work areas, and reservable private meeting rooms). We are very lucky here at LP!!

Libraries are often underrated, but this one truly stands out. My children love visiting, as it is welcoming and offers a great selection of books and activities. The staff is always friendly and approachable, creating a positive atmosphere where no one feels reprimanded—because, after all, kids will be kids.

My granddaughter had her First Birthday party at the Library. It was an amazing party. I highly recommend having a party there, they go above and beyond to make this an amazing experience!!
