Lil Rays

We live less than 10 minutes from Lil Ray’s and have ordered takeout from them many times without any problems until now. This time, our shrimp po’boys were soggy, greasy, and unappetizing by the time we got home (photo attached). When we called, the person we spoke with said we could bring the food back so they could look at it, but once we agreed, her tone totally changed. She now seemed to be suggesting the food was only soggy and greasy because we lived “so far away” and that they couldn’t do anything about it. We’ve ordered this meal dozens of times as takeout and never had this issue. The whole interaction came across as defensive and dismissive, which was very disappointing after being loyal customers for years.

Our go-to for roast beef po boys. Always fresh and delicious. Server turnover is very low, so you can actually get to know the folks serving you and expect the same great service reliably. A real gem.

The only place in the area that offers a shrimp and fried green tomato po boy. So good!! The remoulade is perfect, tart/tangy, light consistency that wasn’t heavy or overwhelming. Didn’t think steak cut fries would go well but it did! They take credit card, and offer 3.5% discount with cash. Service was stellar, I’m always a bit conscious of this as I’m new to the area and haven’t always had the most pleasant or welcoming experiences but I’d totally recommend this place to both visitors and locals.

Roast beef Po-Boy was insanely dry… half a cup of gravy could never fix that. Also my 1/2 shrimp poboy came with with 3 shrimp. Severely disappointed this restaurant has gone downhill over the years. But they have fresh bread, it’s about the only good thing here.
