10 out of 10 on everything. Best Jamaican food, I've had in my life! Every bite made with love. Spice blend on point. Everything fresh & hot. Best $10 lunch special🥰 Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Restaurant clean.
My partner and I were part of a party of five. The food was good. We ordered the oxtail and jerk chicken, and both were very well done. The meat was tender and the flavor was on point. Easily the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself felt a bit dilapidated. Items were scattered around the dining area, which made the space feel cluttered and uninviting. Service was poor. Our server seemed inexperienced and inattentive. For our party of five, a 20% automatic gratuity was added without any notice. I normally tip 30%, so the issue wasn’t the gratuity itself, but the lack of communication. What made it more confusing was that at checkout, we were still given the option to leave an additional tip, and we almost ended up tipping twice. There’s real potential here and I am
First time trying this place. My husband got a large jerk chicken with steamed rice and plantains. And I got the brown stew chicken with rice and peas, plantains and a side of mac and cheese. As well as fried okra as the appetizer. The wait time indicated that the food was made from scratch and the taste of the food supported this theory. My husband didn’t care for the steam rice, the texture was a bit grainy. The brown stew chicken and rice and peas had a hit of sweetness and the mac and cheese was a little on the drier side but had great flavor. The fried okra was a movement by itself but the sauce made it better. We would try this place again.
We're from Rocky Mount NC and I went to Boobys got the nonchalant vibe and left to check out this place. The sense of urgency and patience was sincere. I ordered a fried salmon with plantains and rice/beans... They actually put sauce over the rice and beans and it's pretty good compared to recent dry priors. Thanks guys 🙏
The food was very good. I especially liked the Jamrock Shrimp with dipping sauce and the hot honey wings. My daughter said her ox tail meal with rice peas, and cabbage was also really good. We can't wait to go back. Update: My daughter and I went back for my birthday. We enjoyed the food, service, music and overall experience. We sat down to eat this time and we felt like we were vacationing on an island. Good vibe!
