Library of the Smithfields - Eastern Monroe Public Library

Im able to check out and even suggest to be able to check out, some of the greatest ancient history books of all time here.. the staff is greatly appreciated and appreciative towards the visitors here. Magnificent library, i believe theres a great future to this already amazing library! 👏

Noisy as hell! What has become of libraries?! A lady making multiple business phone calls like she's in her personal office, people talking loudly like they're the guest speaker at a seminar. I don't get it. I come to the library to focus, and have little to no distractions. When I asked one of the staff about making calls in the library she said " it's tolerated because everyone has cell phones" why even come to the library??! I have a freakin headache!!!

It is nice and clean and the staff is helpful and courteous. A place to improve is separate sections into fantasy, romance, etc instead of just fiction and non fiction and YA. Also, I understand that the childrens activities are probably catering to SAH moms but those of us who work would love the opportunity to take our children to activities in the afternoon. Overall it is a nice little spot to get a couple books. The selection is tiny but appropriate since the building isnt very big. Me and my daughter go there for books each week and it is an enjoyable experience.

8/5/2014: This library just recently opened and it is top notch. I only used the computers, but they were up to date and reliable. This library is also very nice to guests and the staff was very helpful.
