Leila's Empanadas

Tucked away in the business district of Anthem is this hidden gem. My friend at work brought them in for lunch and upon seeing them, I asked if he brought enough for the whole class. They looked fantastic. The next day I had to stop in. I’m so glad I did. Firstly she was so friendly and answered all my questions. Then I made my decision and got a pulled pork and a beef empanada. They each came with their own sauce/salsa which was a nice touch. Each were bursting at the seems with meat. Very good value. The pastry was flaky and delicious and the fillings were great. Next time, I’m bringing the whole family. Absolutely thrilled.

This place is a must try! Trust me, you’ll want to come back. I’m gluten free due to a minor allergy, so I can still eat some gluten but I try to avoid it. I say that because I miss real good bread, it’s hard to find a true replacement. However, their gluten free empanadas are so good, you will think they gave you the wrong order by mistake! They only have chicken and pepperoni (hopefully for now), but they were delicious. The staff were very friendly and answered all my questions. Yes, I had to try a sweet empanada also (not gluten free) and oh my god!

I’ve been a quiet, devoted fan of Leila’s frozen empanadas for quite some time. But nothing compares to tasting them fresh. They are absolutely delicious, and each empanada offers a delightful surprise with every bite, like opening a little Pandora’s box of flavor. Even the dips are perfectly paired and elevate the experience. The owners are genuinely warm and friendly, which makes every visit even more special. I truly love it here.

We finally got a chance to get takeout from Leila's Empanadas. The buffalo chicken was very good and the pulled pork was even better! The dessert empanadas were also delicious. We will definitely be back and we're grateful there's such a hidden gem in Anthem. Wish we found it sooner!

Leila’s Empanadas is hands down a 20/10 experience! We skipped the savory ones and went straight for the dessert menu, and it was the best decision we’ve made all week. ​We tried: ​🍎 Apple: Perfectly spiced and tasted like a premium homemade pie. ​🍪 Oreo: This was the absolute star—melty, chocolatey, and totally addictive. ​🍒 Cherry: Bright, tart, and fresh. ​The crust is incredibly flaky and buttery, which pairs perfectly with the sweet fillings. It’s rare to find a place where the dessert empanadas are the main event, but Leila’s nails it. If you have a sweet tooth, you HAVE to come here!
