Lead Horse Bed and Breakfast

Let me start with the good... the host was very nice and pleasant, the bed was clean. The entrance for the house was not well marked. Our room was on the 3rd floor, we shared a bath with another room. The other room had 4 people in it, so a shower time was hard to come by. The shower did partly work the first day, but not the second. Breakfast was fine, but nothing compared to any other B&B we have ever stayed in. The owner was a Carousel buff, she had a nice collection that had not been dusted in a very long time. The banisters were covered with cobwebs, the 3rd floor stairs were steep and narrow, they would not be Handicapped friendly. The home had potential, and may have been nice 20 years ago. We were desperate for a room during Penn States homecoming. I couldn't' find any reviews so

We were looking for a place to stay for a busy Penn State game and Lynn had availability at the Lead Horse. Lynn was a wonderful host and the room was perfect for the night. We had to rush in the morning and could not stay for breakfast, but the spread Lynn had put out looked wonderful!! Thank you for the stay, Lynn!

Does not accept credit cards, required a 50% deposit via check. I had made an error in the date I requested reservations. I contacted them with more than a week and a half notice and asked if there was availability on a different day. The woman I spoke to was so rude and said that this was a part-time operation and that my expectations were unreasonable. This explains why it is so poorly operated. She said how much I inconvenienced her. Given her reaction, I did not want to stay in her home. I told her to keep the deposit. I was so offended by her neglect and mistreatment, I couldn't imagine being a guest.

Lynn was a wonderful host to me and my husband (boyfriend at the time) several years ago for our stay of several months. Would love to go back one day and see how she’s been!
