Le Papillon Bed & Breakfast

Warm and friendly welcome with large bed and even larger room all beautifully decorated.|Very nice continental breakfast for small additional cost, well worth it.|Set in the centre of the charming village of Verteillac, in the north west of the Dordogne region with great walks and rides close by. |While the village is quiet it does boast two restaurant/bars within a very short walk of the hotel.|The first Sunday of the month sees a antiques fair and car boot sale literally on the hotel doorsteps.

Convenient location, walk to everything. The French bulldogs are so sweet. Let them know ahead of time if you have dietary requirements. We enjoyed our stay. Rating at three since breakfast was okay, but not amazing. Clean, air conditioned, and good parking. Hosts are nice.

My sister and I spent 3 nights at Le Papillon while attending the Shaw Festival. It's in an excellent location and we could walk to the theatres, shops and restaurants. Our room had 2 single beds, a couple of comfortable wing chairs and a small bathroom with a shower. Our hosts, Louis and Patrice, were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is normally served at 8:45 but Louis readily agreed to serve us earlier on a couple of the days when needed. Breakfast was good and was served in the sun room just off the lovely garden. Breakfast was different every day and included fresh local strawberries when we were there.

We were given a cordial welcome by Lewis and the two adorable dogs upon our arrival. We stayed in the “Viceroy” room. We found it to be spacious and clean. There was no tv in the room which suited us just fine. There was a tv however with satellite in the communal room. The backyard was not overly large but had plenty of seating. It was adorned with plenty of foliage and kept up nice. Breakfast was an appetizer bowl of fresh fruit followed by a very delicious frittata. |Our hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. Overall we really enjoyed our short stay. Thank you Le Papillon.

Enjoyed our weekend stay. Patrice and Louis are charming hosts as are their dogs Abby and Sarah. Beautiful home and great rooms. Immaculate lodgings. Breakfast was a feast both mornings. Can't wait to return!!
