Lazy R Bar & Grill

Excellent food. We went on a Tuesday night around 430. It wasn't too busy whe. We arrived but got busier as we were there. We had a burger and the fries chicken. Both were very good. The service was a little slow, but they were busy and there were only 2 servers.

Pit-stopped here on the way back to Rapid from Hot Springs. We got the pickle spears (yum), a couple beers, and some shots. Our server Lindsey was awesome. When we ordered kamikaze shots, Lindsey wasn’t sure of the recipe, so she asked a coworker to make them. We didn’t mind explaining what goes in it, but the bartender initially poured them into 1 oz shot glasses—since there’s mixer, they ended up as partial shots. We asked if they could be moved to a mixed shot glass so we’d actually get a full shot, and the bartender (pink sweater with hearts) looked us in the eye and said, “Believe it or not, I’ve been a bartender for 30 years.” The comment felt unnecessary, and she continued to be rude the rest of the night—even after we told her the shot tasted great. We camped in the campground behind the lLazy R in Hermosa SD, We toured all through Keystone and Mount Rushmore and Custer Park, it was a full day and we were starving. We were “those people” who arrived at 8:20 PM and they closed at nine! I apologize and asked if it was OK if we come in so close to closing or we shd take out. She said no problem, kitchen closes at 9 and was super friendly about it. Our food was made quickly, our server super friendly, our drinks super cheap and we were out of there by 9:05!(we were hungry!!) we both had the Friday night special. Prime rib and fish and chips. The food was pretty reasonably priced and everything was very good. Beers and mixed drinks are also reasonably priced. Food was tasty and portions were about right for the price, with a good mix of choices on the menu. Service was friendly, the place felt comfortable, and I would not mind stoppin in again for a meal and a drink
