Las Delicias del Gato

I couldn’t be happier with my experiences here. I’ve had Ecuadorian food outside of Ecuador in NYC and it’s been fine, but this was the most authentic Ecuadorian food I’ve had to date!! From corviche to encebollado to cazuela and bolon, I’ve been blown away 🤤😍 I hope they open a standalone restaurant soon because DC needs a new permanent Ecuadorian restaurant! Also, it was super affordable!

OH MY GOD this place hit the spot!! If you’re Ecuadorian, or miss Ecuadorian food, you must visit Delicias del Gato. Every flavor was impeccable. We were able to find things we haven’t seen in the U.S.: cafe lojano, mote, hornado, chulpi, Guitig etc. They have aji with tomate de árbol and they have aji de maní 🤤 the service was also great. Such such such a good experience!

Ecuadorian food is hard to find in this area but this place meets all my needs. The food is authentic and really good, the service is great and friendly. It's small but quaint. And the food is made fresh. Have the limeade made to order .. you'll fall in love with the place.

I had the pleasure of having lunch at Las Delicias del Gato in Washington DC, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant is open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM, so it's best to arrive early to ensure your favorite dishes are still available. Located in a shared space with a Mexican food place, you might not see the restaurant's name prominently displayed, but the address is accurate. The Ecuadorian food was fantastic, and it's a much-needed addition to the area—I hope they expand soon. Parking, as expected in DC, can be a bit of a challenge, but it's worth the effort. They recently expanded to accommodate more diners, though the lack of air conditioning made it a bit uncomfortable on a hot summer day. The food here is absolutely amazing, with seasoning that feels just like home. It’s hard to find good Ecuadorian food in the DMV area, and I can confidently say this is the best! The staff were incredibly friendly, and you can feel the warmth of Ecuadorian hospitality the moment you walk in the door. We tried several dishes, including the Encebollado, Mote con Chicharrón, Caldo de Pata, Empanadas, and Encebollado Mixto. Every dish was perfectly seasoned and captured the true flavors of Ecuador. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving an authentic taste of Ecuador, whether you’re familiar with the cuisine or looking to try it for the first time. This is a gem in the DMV area!
