𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐧 I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. Always happy to help with recommendations or just a friendly chat. The hotel itself has a beautiful sitting area that really captures the charm of Carmel. It was the perfect spot to relax with a book or enjoy a quiet morning coffee. You can tell they’ve put a lot of thought into making the space feel both cozy and elegant. One of the best parts was how close it was to the beach, just a short stroll away! Whether we were heading out for a sunset walk or a morning jog along the shore, the location couldn’t have been better. This place was cute and you can’t beat the location. Just nine minutes down the hill is the beach and in the opposite direction all of the adorable shops, restaurants, and bakery. To me, for the price you pay, it is very bare-bones hotel living. The rooms were uncomfortably tiny with a standup college shower. No bathtub. While there is a complimentary continental breakfast served and they make it welcoming by turning on all the fire pits so you can sit by the fire to enjoy your coffee, that is really the only hotel service provided. For the money… It really should be a full bed-and-breakfast and it would be nice if they did an evening happy hour where you could purchase a glass of wine or some light appetizers to enjoy by the fire pit before walking to dinner. Fantastic place to stay. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and beaches. Private parking and dog friendly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free continent breakfast included. This will be a regular place to stay.

What a beautiful place with quirky rooms. We stayed in Hansel and Greta cottage. Breakfast was included and was a continental which was more than enough. The town of Carmel by the sea has to be seen and you must go to the beach to watch the sunset. Breathtaking to say the least … the climb back up will be the same for other reasons lol 🤣

My partner and I stayed at Lamp Lighter Inn for two nights with our dog in late April. We were driving up the coast and had planned to stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea, but didn't have a reservation. We walked in and the staff were so friendly and helpful—they allowed us to see the rooms before booking and were very accommodating when we decided to extend our stay. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and spacious. The atmosphere at the Inn is cozy and inviting—there are fire pits for guests to enjoy and noise was never an issue for us. The location couldn't be better—the beach, great restaurants, and cute shops are all a short walk away. We would certainly stay here again.
