Lakota Coffee Company - Downtown

I have lived in Columbia for 3 years and I can definitively say that Lakota is my favorite coffee joint, hands down. I have never had a bad experience there. Whether it is a date, studying, or spending some time embroidering, I love going to Lakota. Their coffee is fantastic (stronger than the neighboring coffee shops, which I prefer) and their staff is very nice. A while back I was planning to study abroad and needed a gift for my host family. So, one of the staff offered to help me find the perfect bag of beans. It was a hit! Lakota is also a key player in its community. After reaching out and explaining the needs of my small organization, they offered us a donation. 10/10 establishment.

Update !!! Andrew reached out to me personally apologized, told me that he talked to his staff, I received a full refund & reward points. I truly appreciate him making it right & speaking with his staff. I’ll be back next week as usual. :) I come in regularly to get a sausage, egg, bagel sandwich, sometimes coffee or lunch. I usually order online because I work downtown & have limited breaks so it’s easier to order online & go pick up. Most of the time by the time the app says my orders ready they haven’t even started it so I loose 15-20 mins of my lunch sometimes I loose a whole 30 which sucks I just wish there was a better way to do online pickup. But today I got my breakfast bagel walked all the way back to the shop I work at to open my bag & find a completely burnt bagel I’m not so

We’re visiting from crazy California, and Missouri’s charm, attitude, and core values absolutely knock it out of the park — and this place is no exception. Lakota Coffee captures everything we’ve come to love about Columbia: genuine friendliness, an inviting vibe, and fantastic coffee that tastes like it was made with care. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals and travelers, and the menu has something for every coffee lover — from bold espresso to smooth, rich brews and creative specialty drinks. The staff couldn’t be kinder, and it’s clear they take pride in what they do. If you’re anywhere near downtown Columbia, make this your go-to coffee stop. ☕💛

Coffee and a bagel this morning at Lakota. Great to find a parking space early and then spend three or so hours this morning using this space as my first "office" of the day. Good for working, good for meetups, great for coffee. Friendly service from a nice young lady at the counter who took my order. Despite the queue, it moved quickly. Lots of comfortable seating though more of them with power outlets would be better. I will definitely return to Lakota!

Love stopping by for a salted caramel anything,always nice folks and quick service. Love the downtown vibes
