Customer Reviews
As a Mexican, authenticity matters to me, and this place truly delivers. The food is genuinely authentic and makes me feel right at home. Oaxacan cuisine is always on another level, and when the chef is from Oaxaca, you know the flavors will be incredible. The Oaxacan Heritage Plate is hands down the best!
I love to explore new Mexican in the area and La Sandunga is something rich, new and different offering Oaxacan mole flavors and style. The Heritage Plate is diverse and fun, the staff is excited and kind, the decor takes the old Italian restaurant vibe and spins it into a Mexican basement fiesta full of great Lucha Libre wrestling. Now the harder news, the food even with no one in the new location took 20 minutes to reach the table which makes a lunchtime visit hard to fit. The salsa is watered down tomatoes and salt but the side dips more than make up for a massively underwhelming salsa. The verde is a bright fun green pepper citrus that adds flavor to anything you put it on and the dark hot mole is hot but a rich smokey counterpoint to the verde. The Heritage Plate is fun and value but
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food this is the place, everything is handmade the wait for your food is about 12-15 min but it’s understandable since every ingredient is fresh and made on the spot. I was one of first to try their corn pastry soon to roll out, very delicious not too sweet just the right balance!
The food was great. The service was great. The pastor tacos were phenomenal 🌮 We got chocoflan and churros for desert 🍮 we definitely plan going back
First time eating here and the experience was great, food was delicious and had authentic taste!
