La Rou Uruguayan Bakery

Excellent customer service, cappuccino, and sweet bread ham/cheese sandwich tasted really good. A lot of delicious pastries and uruguayan cuisine at competitive prices. Counter lady, very friendly and courteous, the owner was on-site, greeting customers, which makes me feel welcomed.

I recently had the opportunity to sample the exceptional Uruguay Empanada de Carne at this bakery. The establishment is clean and inviting, the service was outstanding, and the prices are remarkably affordable. I highly recommend it.

We were on our way back home from walk and stopped by to get something to eat. We were amazed by the quality of the pastries. Very delicious. Would recommend.

Take your morning yerba mate with a selection of freshly made and delicious bizcochos. These small pastries come in many savory and sweet varieties and are an essential part of waking up for anyone from Uruguay. The bakery also has great empanadas and pascualina, an egg and spinach pastry with Italian roots. ° "R.O.U." might not be familiar to people passing by if they are not from Uruguay, but would be an immediate reason to slam on the breaks for most Uruguayos. I visit Elizabeth for from time to time for work and I finally got a chance to visit this cafe recently. I stopped in and the lady was very nice (she is fluent in Spanish) and I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of pastries and lunchtime sandwiches. I tried a sandwich, I think it was called the Olympian, and a couple guava pastries. Everything was really delicious. And the coffee is good, too. I really think it's an excellent little lunch spot if you like Uruguayan pastries and food. I also saw that they have specialty cakes which look delicious and I think I'll try one for a birthday or special occasion.
