La Rosa Steakhouse

This is actually a Gas station cafeteria on 54 between New Mexico and El Paso. Convenience Green chili stew - first time trying and it was good. Chicken fried chicken- chicken was fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. White gravy was really good too. Chicken fried steak- also fried to perfection and crispy but chicken was way better, imo. Both entrees came with 3 sides, instant mashed potatoes, green beans and a dinner roll. Sides were alright but chicken stole the show. 4 stars just for the fried chicken.

If you’re traveling on 54 south through New Mexico and are hungry, stop by the Rosa. This was a great gas and cafe stop. Their hamburger basket and Philly steak basket was great. Excellent service and cozy atmosphere.

OMG THE SALSA & CHIPS ARE DELICIOUS!!! BEST I’VE HAD EVER! BLT WAS FIRE and the DAILY SPECIAL WAS BEEF TACOS $8.99 today! SARAH WAS RUNNING THE WHOLE DINING ROOM WITH A SMILE! Recommend for passing through :)))

Wow were we surprised. We stopped here on our way to Colorado simply because the kids were hungry. We went in with low expectations and were pleasantly surprised on how good the food was. They have an ample menu, you are sure to find something that will satisfy your hunger. The French Dip sandwiches were delicious, with the right amount of meat. The Green Chile stew was hearty and full of flavor. Definitely a crowd pleaser. The salsa was also delicious and flavorful but it does pack a punch. My husband found the Green Chicken Enchiladas tasty and actually said they might be a restaurant favorite, his only complain were the beans which he thought might be from a can. Great local diner! We got the French Dip with tots. 2 pancakes & scrambled eggs. Build your own Fried chicken sandwich. And of course Cheeseburger and fries! Nice and Busy. Came right at 5pm. Everyone's food was delicious. Even the food on the surrounding tables looked great! What a great place! Forget that it's in a truck stop, it's really a diner with a truck stop attached. Great service. Wonderful experience!
