La Piquette

I ordered the pan seared filet minion, which is one of the most expensive items on the lunch menu and it was worth every penny. The risotto was delicious but also had a complexity that brightens the dish. A must visit destination if you are in the area.

My cousin and I decided to try La Piquette before heading to Zoo Lights this year, and we were not disappointed. The host was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in the door, offering us a few different table options (I recently had knee surgery, so this was very much appreciated). While we were waiting for our main server to come greet us, another server saw us looking at drink menus and stopped to get our drinks started right away. That same server continued to stop by our table as he was walking back and forth to his section just to check on us, made a few recommendations, and contributed to such an overall pleasant experience. It’s really nice, cozy, intimate atmosphere when you walked into the restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious. The soft shell crab was seasoned well. The mashed potatoes that come with it was ok for me. I think it needs just a little bit more seasoning. But, I understand why it’s served that way since the soft shell crab is already seasoned very well. The crab avocado salad was really good. It has lump crab with chopped avocado. The sautéed calamari and mussels are cooked perfectly. Calamari was tender. We were rushing to eat because we had to catch a show at the Kennedy center. Next time, I will make the reservation at least 2 hours before the show, so I could relax and enjoy the food.

Delicious French food. I had the salmon with crushed potatoes and spinach which was delicious. My daughter had the scallops and french fries , which was also delicious. We shared the chocolate mouse for dessert which was also yummy. Great dinner. We will definitely come back. Service was good too. Make reservations. We parked on the street but there is a garage nearby Had dinner here again 11/24. Dinner was enjoyed by the entire party. Love the bread with olive oil. We Had coq au vin , scallops , shrimp with pasta and salmon. The salmon was a little overcooked. And the mouse was not as good as last time. I will eat here again.

I had a good dining experience at a French restaurant with a friend a while back. The food was good overall and paired well with the wine, but I didn't like the Foie Gras I ordered; the flavor was just too strong for my taste. The restaurant's ambiance and decor were lovely and made me feel like I was in Paris. The service was good, and my overall experience was great. When the weather is nice, we will return to try other dishes on the menu.
