La Patrona Mexican Restaurant

This restaurant was once Ernesto’s and is now allegedly under new ownership. The fact that all the Ernesto’s reviews are still here makes me wonder if it is truly bought out by the new owner (which would make it a new business) or if the last owner/operator is still co-owner in some capacity and this is simply a rebrand. La Patrona opened under the new name and management a few weeks ago, so reviews from before are not really accurate and that is confusing in my opinion. This is just a note for those who may be wondering what is happening in these reviews. I stopped coming to Ernesto’s because there was a sharp decline in quality and decided to try this place after hearing good things about it. I was once a weekly Ernesto’s patron. We came for lunch and it wasn’t crowded at all. Barely

First time here since the name change and new owners. The food was very good, the portion was huge. I ordered the fajita lunch special and it was large as a dinner plate. Excellent staff, no wait.

We loved the chicken soup here. Emphasis on loved. I picked up 2 orders for lunch today and was disappointed to see the salsa instead of the pico,avocado, and lime. I should have listened to my 1st instinct and called to verify the recipe hadn't changed. Ernesto please open another restaurant. This wife needs a lazy meal!! Edit 10/1/25: Tried it the next day and it was if i had covid. No taste at all. I had to add my own spices in order to taste it. Despite what the employee stated, this is what my order came with. A tub of chicken water, a bag of chips, and salsa. I will not go back and stand by my previous statement. Ernesto, please open another restaurant!!!!! And to the employee who commented on my review, check your grammar and spelling and not me.

Not my favorite. Place wasn’t busy at all and my waiter couldn’t even stand there long enough for me to finish my order. He keeps running off before I was done ordering. Paid extra for beef tips and like boiled. No seasoning. Ground beef has a weird mushy texture. I’m from Houston and have had Mexican all over this state for work. So far this was my least favorite. Chips are off too. Sticks to your teeth. To thick and hard.

As a first time customer, I loved the environment and energy of this restaurant! Very very nice waiters/ waitress who greeted me, my best friend/ partner and my daughter. The atmosphere and hospitality were very welcoming! The food is tastes amazing! The service was excellent! We weren’t disappointed at all! I would definitely recommend to my family and friends to come try this place out for sure! I will definitely come back! Thank you for your service!
