La Mexicana

This place is excellent for the price point and generous serving sizes. Tonight a group of my friends unexpectedly arrived at this restaurant with a party of 10+ people and Carmen was so accommodating for us. We really appreciate her taking us in and providing us with a great send off dinner for some of our friends leaving the state. The food came out hot, the drinks were good, and overall it was an experience Im glad we got to have. If you're looking for a casual sit down restaurant in Germantown, MD then this is the spot! What I Ordered: The Pollo Saltado: The portion sizes were good on the chicken, potatoes, and veggies but the only criticism I have is that the rice could have had a bit more flavor. The restaurant is located near my place and we sometimes get food from here. Overall, it's a casual place, and some of the items are good and some ok. The good thing about the place is that they serve a good amount of food. However, the service is okay as they hire only one person for serving, and I feel that it is ridiculous for restaurant to do that to save money. However, the food is reasonably priced, so I would recommend giving it a try.

We walked in and 2 kids (possibly related to owner ) were running around the whole place (bar on right and booths straight ahead and tables on right of booths ). Our waitress tried to get the kids to stop running, spoke to the parents (who basically sat there and ignored their behavior) and they did nothing . This went in the entire time. The food was not good . We had the steak fajitas and chicharrones and yucca. Our waitress was very very good and apologized the entire time and provided great service. We will never return .

Got the lunch special shrimp and rice- only got about 4-6 shrimp that tasted a little over cooked but hey what do you expect for a $10 meal it was tasteful 😏😏😏 Cheese papusa- definitely wasn't authentic(which I've had)😏😏 Salmon taco-🙂🙂🙂🙂 Yucca-🙂🙂🙂🙂 Would recommend, overall decent price for decent food in a bar atmosphere.

Husband and I were running an errand out in Maryland from Virginia, and I wanted to eat somewhere local. I landed on this gem! The food was delicious, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was delightful. We will come back if we are in the neck of the woods. Only one suggestion, open a place in NOVA!
