La Isla #2 Restaurant and Bar

I went with a friend, I got myself a fried fish. The food was horrible, overcooked fries, overcooked rice, they barely put fish, it was just fried bread crumbs, I couldn’t even eat it. The place is Overpriced and overrated and as per most of recent reviews, the chef is not doing their best job.

My husband and I brought his mother for the first time. Our meals were wonderful hers though was. Hers was well over cooked. I don't think we will get her to come back again 😞

We got the oysters, ceviche, and fried octopus and everything was phenomenal. The food was prepared very well. The best Mexican seafood in the Midwest.

We had 4 dishes all were amazing. The fresh vegetables were crisp and tasty. We had 2 kinds of Fajitas and both were full of flavor. Chili Renellos (sp) was perfectly done and enough for 3 or 4. If you go home hungry you are too picky. Very clean and friendly service. Glad we stopped today.

I got some grilled shrimp, which were very good and came in a sort of spicy house sauce. They came with a salad and some fries, which I thought were unnecessary (but they were really good!) A pina cola was one of the best I've had in a very long time, though I wonder if mine got made with alcohol - it didn't seem to have much in it. The chipped ice and cherries are a nice touch. I was just passing through, but I'd totally try more things here if I were local.
