Love this place because it has bible verses on the table and Bible on the counter. This place is Columbian and besides that they also sell good sopa de gallina! Chicken hen soup! I had to look it up to figure out the difference but I can taste the difference. Pollo = young chicken. Gallina adult female chicken or hen!
I recently moved to the neighborhood, and I was out exploring new places to eat, dine, lounge, hang out, and / or have a nice cappuccino (which I love), or a nice cocktail. I stopped to get sm groceries and hold and behold this little restaurant, bearly visible if you drive on Richmond Ave at a speed, was next door. Small dining area, super clean, bathroom is spotless clean with a baby changing station. Right away, I was offered a bowl of lentil soup (taste size) and was marvelous. The hostess is pleasant and friendly, and the prices are great. I ordered empanadas, 2 of each, delicious. The main dish was chicken milanesa with rice and salad and cm with homemade thin French fries. Service is great. In the kitchen, there are a couple of eldery women who are for SURE KNOW HOW TO COOK. I am a lvl 8 google reviewer. I have been to over 10 Colombian and Venezuelan restaurants around Houston. This spot has the best price to value ratio. The plates are packed and the price is low. They give you lentil soup for FREE that you can eat while you wait for your order. They have the BEST empanadas. I mean really! You could go there and just buy 10-20 of them and that would be enough. They cost $1 to $1.60 depending on the filling. The cashier is so kind, even to a partial Spanish speaker. Highly recommend picking this spot over the other 4 in the area.
The Filete a la Calima is amazing. All the food is wonderful and the service is exceptional. I would absolutely recommend coming here if you want that at home cooking by your grandma.
This is where Colombians go to get authentic food for a reasonable price. In particular, the seafood soup is especially good. They have so much demand, they had to include it in their daily menu. The service is friendly and fast. Enjoy!!!
