La Catrina Tacos & Tequila Bar, St. Augustine

My husband found La Catrina online and wanted to visit due to all of the positive reviews about the restaurant. He figured over 2,500 people couldn’t be wrong. Let me tell you….they weren’t! La Catrina was the best Mexican restaurant we’ve visited in a long time! We only ate appetizers bc you can’t get them where we live. The sopas were fabulous and the tamale was the highlight of our meal! We liked it so much, we bought another one to take home. The skinny margarita with organic tequila was refreshingly delicious. Best of all, the waitress was super friendly and the prices were great for the quality.

After a long day and drive this was the PERFECT place to end our day. We were hungry and craving really good food and this did not disappoint. My family and I absolutely loved everything we ordered. The blackberry passionfruit frozen margarita was sooo good! I also really loved that they had someone make guacamole in front of you, wish we would've got that. Also would've ordered the churro cart if we weren't already so full! The atmosphere was so pretty. It was decorated for Christmas, but even without it the paintings on the walls plus all the decor throughout just fit the vibe. The staff was super friendly, asking if we needed anything, checking on us, answering our questions. Definitely recommend!!

This restaurant has quickly become a favorite. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with thoughtful décor and genuinely friendly staff throughout. I ordered the asada street tacos with rice and beans, paired with a coconut mojito—everything was expertly prepared and full of flavor. What impressed us most was the value: two complete meals plus drinks came to under $45. Our server, Alejandro, provided attentive, warm service that enhanced an already wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Walking in, the visuals are colorful and absolutely stunning such a fun and welcoming atmosphere! We were greeted and seated promptly and politely, which set the tone right away. Our server, Jimena, was as pleasant as they come: attentive, gracious, and always smiling. We’ve been searching for a new go-to spot since moving, and this is it! The margaritas are to die for truly authentic, just like the food we enjoyed. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the staff made us feel right at home. We can’t say enough about the food, drinks, and the incredible service. We’ve found our new home to relax, enjoy, and feel like family in this wonderful establishment!

We had such a great experience at La Catrina! Brenda was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing. She stayed on top of our drink refills, made sure we had everything we needed, and checked on us consistently without being overbearing. The turnaround time on our food and drinks was impressively fast, especially considering how busy they were. The atmosphere was lively and fun, definitely not boring. You can tell the team works their butts off here. Everyone was moving with purpose, and even with a packed house, the service never slipped. That kind of hustle makes a difference. The service was outstanding and the food was just as good…. solid, satisfying, and exactly what we were craving. We’ll definitely be back!
