La Carreta Mexican Grill

We LOVE this place and usually don’t have any issues but today was a different story. Called in a pick up order on the phone and when we arrived the order had not even been placed yet. Wait around for the order only to receive basically zero bacon on our bacon, egg and cheese tacos. We always WANT to choose local businesses but Stripes would never do this to us.

I ordered online cause I knew the place would be packed. Ordering was easy, but the wait time for 4 simple barbacoa tacos had me scratching my head. In other words, it took a while to be prepared. I wouldn't be upset about it cause it is Sat. (Busy Day), but when my husband went inside to pick up the order, he said there wasn't anywhere to pay that he had to hunt down someone to help him since they kept walking past him. Now, before he left, he asked if there was any onion and Cilantro inside the bag. Was told there should be, and he left. I always check the bag before leaving, so when I noticed there wasn't, he went back inside to kindly ask for some. The first thing said to him was very rudely, why hadn't he added to his order. And then they proceeded to then give off the impression of b

La Carreta is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in b/c. The lunch specials are amazing food for under $9 a meal. Service is great the food is good portions. I could eat there every week and never get tried of the food. If you never eaten here then shame on you.

I'm so disappointed in how fast this place went downhill after reopening. All the servers keep their backs to the customers while in the kitchen and stay on their phones instead of checking in. The cooks are getting lazy and serve cold reheated rice, if they are supposed to keep cilantro off a taco and need to fix it, they don't remake it they just pick some off and send it back out. I always have to flag someone down for a refill or my check. Guess you can't find any good help in north Bryan. It was absolutely dead in there during the lunch hour of 12pm today, I fear more days like that are to come if you don't step it up. You're my favorite taco place in town, please fix it.
