A nice night out in Philly! Was visiting friends in Philly and we went out for a nice dinner. The plan was we had a reservation, but a technical snafu on our end never processed the reservation, clearly a simple mistake. When we arrived, our non existent reservation was not there. Luckily we arrived before it was to busy and they managed to find a table. While it was clearly a mistake, it would have meant looking for another location close by which is not easy on a busy Saturday evening. We were soon seated and ordered the Polipo alla Griglia (grilled octopus olive & artichoke farro salad, whipped ricotta) and the Involtino Saltimbocca (Roasted pork tenderloin lled with prosciutto & sage polenta, marsala sauce) was my main course. Food and service was spectacular and hit the spot.
We're so glad to have L'anima in the neighborhood! The staff is wonderful and friendly, and the food is consistently delicious. The standards like the crab spaghetti are great, and the specials are always...special! The patio is a lovely place to eat in nice weather. The inside is comfortable, but a little noisy when it's full.
Had an amazing experience at L’Anima my fiancée end I ate outside came hungry and left very satisfied. We sat outside on the great patio and started with a pizza which I didn’t expect to be that good, perfectly cooked with some nice crust. We got shared two pasta dishes the caccio e Pepe and the crab in red sauce with breadcrumbs and my gosh we were licking the plate when we finished. Our server was fantastic and we were able to meet the owner and chef who couldn’t have been nicer. This will certainly be a staple for us in the future would highly recommend you give it a try!
L’Anima is an absolute gem. The food is outstanding, truly authentic, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. Every dish reflects real care and quality. Just as impressive is the service: attentive, welcoming, and genuinely impeccable without ever feeling forced. You feel well taken care of from start to finish. A place that gets everything right—highly recommended and absolutely worth returning to.
LOVED the food and our experience. The dining area is very cute and we tried four different pastas (all very good). The portions are fair for the price, however I would have liked to add parm to some dishes but that wasn’t offered. My favorite pasta was either the gnocchi with mushrooms or the squid ink with seafood (the special, not a staple menu item). Honestly the waitstaff was my favorite part of this experience! They were knowledgeable of everything on the menu and had great recommendations. The tiramisu wasn’t the most photogenic, but my favorite thing we had.
