The food was incredibly delicious. You choose your items from the buffet, they weigh them, and prepare them to your desired level of spiciness inside. My only concern was that they use the same tongs for all the items. It's not hygienic for them to touch both the meat and the vegetables. Also, it was very busy when we went; we had to wait 25 minutes. They politely informed us of this beforehand. However, if you don't want to wait, I recommend paying attention to the time you go.
Officially my favorite restaurant in the bay area. Everything tastes incredibly good. Edit: The broth on my second visit was extremely off. It lacked flavor and even though it was spice level 3, it tasted the same as spice level 1. The 간 of the broth was 신거워. And the cream shrimp was waaaaaay too sweet for my taste. But still, amazing service! Wish it was a bit more consistent.
This place has such a great vibe—modern, welcoming, and spotlessly clean. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. You can really tell they care about both the food and the overall experience.
So many mala options, it’s amazing! You can customize your own bowl for malatang and mala xiang guo. My favorite was the mala tteokbokki and mala rose jjimdak. The rice cakes are super chewy and the sauce flavor is great!! Some food options can be a bit heavy, but they have pickled radish which helped. Otherwise, I like that the mala flavor isn’t too strong in some of the menu items, and I think it’d be easy to eat even for people who are not familiar with mala taste (+ u can customize spice level). Overall, the food is amazing u should try! + We went around 4pm on a Monday, and it was pretty quiet. There’s a small parking lot + street parking so that’s also nice :)
I am very thankful they are open and still here. Taste 💯! my fav meal of ALL TIME.
