Kook Kai's Thai Noodles

My husband and I went here for the first time today and knew that we had to write a review immediately! We shared tofu pad thai, duck curry, and mango sticky rice - they were all so delicious, fresh, and well-portioned. We both have been to Thailand several times and lived in SE Asia, and we felt that the food was very authentic. Complementary ginger tea was warm and lovely, just like the staff. This is a great family-owned and operated small business! Come support local!

1. I ordered the pad see ew. I don’t really have any complaints, though I personally prefer it with a slightly stronger caramelized soy sauce flavor. 2. They also gave a small complimentary cup of hot ginger tea, which was a nice touch. 3. Ordering is done through your phone, so you’ll need to scan and place your order online. 4. There’s a paid public parking lot across the street, which makes parking pretty convenient.

What a gem! This was some of the best and most authentic Thai restaurants I’ve been to in the DC area. From the moment we walked in, we felt very welcomed by the owner. The pad see ew and red curry were divine! The crispy fried tofu was very crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. We also got to enjoy their complimentary ginger tea. Then came the mango sticky rice. The rice was a gorgeous indigo blue color that, according to the owner, comes naturally from a blue orchid, not any artificial food dyes. Every single thing was absolutely delicious. I can’t sing this restaurant’s praises enough. The Purple Line construction has wreaked havoc on all the small businesses on this street, so please venture off the beaten path and have your lunch or dinner at this treasure of a rest

had the BEST tom yum noodle soup here. not too salty, just spicy and sour enough with a squeeze of lime, and the minced meat portion was perfect. my friend ordered the pad thai and absolutely loved it (we love our southeast asian food!). the thai tea, ginger tea, and hibiscus juice were so refreshing. the service was great, interior charming, and i hope to see this restaurant -- and many others like it on bonifant st -- as packed as it deserves to be on a weekend night!!! come eat + support a local silver spring business :)🍴

This is my first time eating here. I ordered the pineapple fried rice to go. I will have to say this is probably 2nd to the worst pineapple fried rice I have had. The first warning sign was he told told me the meal would be ready in 3-5 minutes. Never in my life have I seen pineapple rice made that fast. I actually I had him repeat to make sure I heard correctly. I left for a few minutes came back and was done. Came to work and the first thing I noticed was the lack of color to the food. And as we know color equals flavor. Usually the rice has a yellowish color due to the curry. This was didn't. Which explains the dull flavor. So in terms of ingredients it comes with shrimp and chicken. Oly 2 shrimps were included. But they are big and they gave a good helping of chicken. But what really
